Report: Spurs are interested in signing playmaker – Liverpool have made contact

Ekstra Bladet report that Tottenham are interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt playmaker, Jesper Lindstrom, but they may face competition from a Big Six rival.

The report states that Spurs, Liverpool, RB Leipzig, Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli are all admirers of Lindstrom this summer, with the Reds having already made contact.

Spurs and Liverpool looking at Jesper Lindstrom

Lindstrom is 23 years old and can play as an attacking midfielder or a winger, both of which fit into Ange Postecoglou’s new system in North London.

Eintracht Frankfurt reportedly want between €35m and €40m for their midfielder this summer (£30m-£34m), so Spurs or Liverpool would have to cough up a decent amount of money for the Danish star.

Lindstrom played 27 games in the Bundesliga last season, scoring seven goals and assisting another four. He also scored in the Champions League during his seven outings (TransferMarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion:

It really depends on Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele this summer. If Postecoglou wants to keep one, or even both of them, then an attacking midfielder is not needed. Maddison will be the number eight, and the other two will play deeper or provide backup.
