Report: Spurs are now eyeing a move for 26-year-old La Liga player

Italian journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are now considering making a move for Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie.

Over the last couple of weeks, the speculation linking Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg with a move to Atletico Madrid has been steadily intensifying.

The Daily Mail even claimed last week that those at Tottenham expect the Dane to complete a switch to the Colchoneros over the coming weeks, and asserted that the Lilywhites have identified Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher and Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz as potential replacements.

Kessie is also on Tottenham’s radar this summer

Galetti has now also taken to social media to talk up the chances of Hojbjerg completing a move to Atletico.

The journalist adds that Kessie is another name on the North London club’s wishlist as a potential replacement for the former Southampton man.

This is not the first time Kessie is being linked with a move to Tottenham this summer, with the print edition of Sport (06/06/23 via Sport Witness) claiming last month that Ange Postecolgou’s men are battling Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus for the 26-year-old’s signature.

Kessie would not only be a cheaper option than both Gallagher and Luiz but the deal would also be much easier to do since Barca are keen to raise funds by offloading their deadwood. However, I get the feeling that Gallagher is Postecoglou’s number-one choice to replace Hojbjerg.
