Spurs are said to be willing to take a cut-price fee for the Argentine this summer, with the 28-year-old having been on the periphery of the first-team last season under Ange Postecoglou.

Lo Celso could be on the move once again this summer

The report claims that Lo Celso is expected to leave Tottenham in the ‘coming weeks’ and will likely fetch around £15m in the current transfer market.

The player himself is thought to be unhappy at his lack of game time at Spurs, while the club are happy to move him on this summer after a somewhat disappointing five years in North London.

Tottenham tell Giovani Lo Celso to find a new club

Lo Celso may not have to look too far to find a new club either, with Aston Villa reportedly interested in signing him this summer (The Sun).

The Argentine played under Unai Emery during a successful loan spell with Villarreal and it appears the Villa boss wants to reunite with his old playmaker.

Although Lo Celso did feature 22 times in the Premier League for Spurs last time out, his minute on the pitch didn’t even reach the 500 mark across the season (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion:

Lo Celso really should have moved on three years ago. The only reason he didn’t was due to a long contract with good wages, hence the loan moves and a season on the bench.

Although Spurs may be hesitant to sell to a rival, a move to Aston Villa would make perfect sense for Lo Celso and I think he could really shine there.

With just a year left on his current contract, this summer represents Tottenham’s last chance to recoup a decent fee.
