Report: Teenager praised by Postecoglou spotted in Spurs training ahead of Burnley

Dane Scarlett was reportedly spotted training with the Tottenham first-team ahead of the club’s FA Cup clash against Burnley.

Scarlett’s loan spell at Ipswich Town did not go according to plan, with the striker not making a single start for the Championship club during the first half of the season, thus forcing the Lilywhites to cut short his stay at Portman Road Stadium.

It has been confirmed that the 19-year-old will remain at Hotspur Way for the rest of the season as he has already featured for Spurs in the Carabao Cup this season, and rules do not allow players to play for three different clubs in the same campaign (Football.London).

Scarlett in line for an opportunity on Friday?

Scarlett might not have to wait for too long to get his opportunity for Spurs, with John Wenham, revealing on his The Lilywhite Rose Twitter handle that the teenager trained with the senior side this week ahead of the clash against the Clarets.

With Alejo Veliz out injured and with Son Heung-min having left for the Asian Cup, Postecoglou could perhaps decide to turn to the Tottenham academy graduate.

Spurs Web Opinion

Scarlett will probably not start against Burnley but he stands a decent chance of getting some minutes under his belt off the bench, especially with Veliz now injured. I do not think Postecoglou would want Richarlison to play all 90 minutes.
