Report: Tottenham ‘confident’ of landing new signing soon after positive talks

According to sources at Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are now optimistic they can wrap up a deal for Radu Dragusin this month, despite concerns regarding the player’s agent’s latest comments suggesting otherwise.

Earlier this week, it was suggested Radu Dragusin could be a Spurs player by the end of the week, with Fabrizio Romano claiming the transfer announcement would be coming ‘very soon’ and that the player had agreed personal terms with the North London club.

With the injuries to both Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero, Spurs are eager to get a deal done quickly this month and reinforce the central defensive area in Ange Postecoglou‘s squad.

Spurs believe Radu Dragusin deal could be close

However, the deal to bring in Dragusin has not been as simple as many first expected. In a recent chat with TV Play (via Marco Giordano), Dragusin’s agent claimed the player could stay in Italy, but suggested an offer of between €25-30m (£21.5-25.9m) would be enough to make the switch happen.

Then, a report from La Repubblica (via Napoli Magazine) claimed Spurs were set for crunch talks with Genoa, who were looking to receive closer to €35m (£30m) for Dragusin.

Now, sources at Football Insider appear to suggest those talks were positive, and that Tottenham are now “confident” they can get the transfer arranged this month.

Despite his agent, Florin Manea’s attempts to “pour cold water” on the move, it seems Dragusin’s switch is closer to being completed after these “new talks”

The report indicates the transfer will be a permanent deal, with Genoa apparently turning down a loan offer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I have every faith that this deal will be completed by the weekend. Everything seems to be heading in the right direction, and I think Dragusin’s agent is just trying to stir up a better deal for his client more than anything, by suggesting Spurs will have their work cut out to get the transfer done.
