Sky Sports have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have now cooled their interest in signing Trevoh Chalobah due to the Chelsea star’s injury problems.
The report explains that Spurs looked to sign Chalobah on deadline day back in the summer but he was already out of action with a hamstring problem at the time.
It is revealed that the 24-year-old has now suffered another setback in his recovery, meaning that he is not expected to be back in action until the end of January.
Tottenham cool interest in Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah
As things stand, the Englishman is expected to remain at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season before leaving his boyhood club next summer.
The outlet adds that Tottenham remain keen on signing a centre-back and have now started looking at other options ahead of January.
Sky Sports add that while Ange Postecoglou would prefer to sign a left-footer, that is not a deal-breaker for the Australian, with the Lilywhites lining up central defenders that are either footed.

If Ange does prefer a left-footed centre-back, Lloyd Kelly would perhaps be the most tempting option for Spurs, given his experience in the Premier League, homegrown status and his contract situation.
