Youssouf Fofana starred for Monaco last season

Fofana has been the linchpin of the Monaco midfield over the last few years and has regularly featured in France’s recent squads.

The 25-year-old came off the bench in Les Blues’ Euros opener against Austria and helped them see out a 1-0 win.

It has been widely reported that Tottenham are keen to add a number six to their squad this summer and it has now emerged that the North London club have set their sights on Fofana.

Tottenham want Youssouf Fofana

This is according to Corriere Torino, who say that Juventus are plotting a move for the Monaco star but the Bianconeri face ‘strong competition’ from AC Milan, Tottenham and West Ham.

It is revealed that the Ligue 1 club would be willing to sell the midfielder for a cut-price fee since he has just a year left on his contract.

The publication suggests that a bid of around €20m-€30m (£17m-£25.3m) would be enough to prise Fofana away from the Louis II Stadium.

This could perhaps be a sign that Tottenham are now shifting their attention to other alternatives after finding out over the last few weeks that Gallagher is not overly keen on leaving Chelsea this summer and could be offered a new contract by the Blues.

Youssouf Fofana could be a great addition to the Spurs midfield under Ange Postecoglou.
