Report: Tottenham have three options to secure Radu Dragusin deal

Tottenham Hotspur are thought to be closing in on a deal for Radu Dragusin this month, and it turns out there are three different options to bring the defender to North London from Genoa.

It is no secret that Spurs are looking to sign a new central defender as a priority in the January transfer window, and Radu Dragusin appears to be the top target for Ange Postecoglou.

Fabrizio Romano has shared some pretty big updates on the Lilywhites’ pursuit of the 21-year-old recently. First of all, it is said Spurs have put together their first ‘verbal bid’ for Dragusin, who is happy to make the move.

Then, Romano added that Postecoglou has given the signing his blessing and that personal terms have now been agreed, with Spurs looking to secure this transfer in the early stages of the transfer window.

Spurs have three options for signing Dragusin

The latest update comes from Football Insider, who claim Tottenham’s approach for Dragusin could be a permanent transfer, a loan switch, or a loan with an option to buy.

The report states that, with “preliminary talks” out of the way, Spurs are “pushing hard” to get a deal for a centre-back completed imminently.

As for the nature of the move for Dragusin, that remains to be seen. It is thought there are “various formulas” being discussed, “including permanent, loan and loan-to-buy options.”

The preference of Genoa is for a permanent deal to be struck, and the Italian side have already knocked back loan offers from other clubs in Serie A.

We certainly seem to like a loan-to-buy deal in the last few years and I can definitely see this one going that way, too. I would imagine Genoa would want an obligation clause in such an agreement, but whatever the circumstances, we need to get this wrapped up as soon as possible.
