Report: Tottenham transfer may be delayed despite all parties being keen

According to the print edition of Corriere della Sera (as relayed by Sport Witness), Emerson Royal’s proposed move to AC Milan might not be completed swiftly, with the Serie A giants currently focused on other priorities.

Emerson Royal to AC Milan rumours continue

Over the last few weeks, a number of Italian outlets have talked up the chances of Milan completing a deal for Emerson, with many suggesting that it is only a matter of time before the transfer is finalised.

This includes a recent update by Gazzetta dello Sport that the two clubs are getting closer and that a bid of around €20m (£17m) will be enough for Paulo Fonseca’s men to secure the 25-year-old.

Corriere della Sera have now mentioned the same fee as the magic number, revealing that Emerson has already ‘given his approval’ to move to the San Siro.

Emerson to AC Milan may be delayed

However, it is explained that he is not a priority for Milan at the moment, with the club focused on getting a striker through the door first.

It is revealed that the Rossoneri are currently in talks with Bologna over a deal for Joshua Zirkzee and might only turn their attention to the Spurs man once that transfer is agreed.

It is not revealed whether any delays will impact Tottenham’s transfer plans at the start of the window.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not sure Tottenham will be too patient on this matter and wait for Milan to complete the deal in their own time.

The North London side would also be offering Emerson to other clubs, with the defender likely to be of interest to plenty of sides in Spain and Italy.
