Report: What happened in Spurs and Bayern talks today – £20m gap and buy-back clause

Sky Sports have reported that Tottenham and Bayern Munich conducted talks with Daniel Levy about Harry Kane today in central London.

The German delegation is said to have travelled specifically for these talks, and conversations continued into the afternoon with Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs and Bayern still far apart on Kane price tag

However, there is still no agreement and the gap in valuation between Spurs and Bayern is said to be ‘at least’ £20m. Talks will continue in London despite the difference in opinion on price.

Bayern believe that Harry Kane has already made his mind up that he would like a move to the Bundesliga champions, but formal talks would only take place if a fee is agreed with Tottenham.

Not only are Spurs expecting Bayern to increase their valuation, but the Lilywhites will also ‘insist’ on a buy-back clause if any sale is agreed – ensuring they have the opportunity to bring Kane back to North London at a later date.

Spurs Web Opinion:

The talks seem to be going as we all knew they would. Daniel Levy will not buckle on the price, so it becomes a matter of whether Bayern are willing to put their money where their mouth is. They likely know Kane may not choose them if he leaves on a free next summer.
