Team News: Postecoglou says two injured Spurs stars are ready to return

Ange Postecoglou has provided a Tottenham Hotspur team news update ahead of tomorrow’s match against Everton during this afternoon’s press conference at Hotspur Way.

Spurs return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium looking to make it three wins in a row having looked to have turned the corner following a horrific run that saw them winless in five matches and in turn drop out of the top four.

Richarlison has scored three goals in his past two Premier League games, more than he had in his first 39 appearances for Tottenham (2) and could become the 13th different player to score against Everton in the Premier League having previously played for the Toffees.

Postecoglou is without the services of Yves Bissouma, who is now starting a four-match suspension after picking up two yellow cards during the 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest last Friday which was his second dismissal of the season.

Destiny Udogie is also another player the Australian cannot call upon after the left-back picked up a fifth booking which warrants a one-match ban.

James Maddison, Manor Solomon, Ryan Sessegnon, Micky van de Ven and Rodrigo Bentancur remain out.

Tottenham team news ahead of Everton match

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of the clash against Sean Dyche’s side.

Postecoglou told SpursPLAY that both Giovani Lo Celso and Brennan Johnson are ready to return against Everton. The former picked up a knock in training earlier this month, while the latter was forced off early with a head injury against Nottingham Forest.

He said: “Yes, Brennan’s fine – he’s trained all week. Everyone else is okay. We’ve got Giovani Lo Celso back. He’s trained as well. He’s available. Obviously, we lose two of the lads through suspension but, from last week, everyone else is okay.”
