International football is all about Euro 2024 and Copa America right now, but one Spurs man has shined in a friendly match for his country against rather unorthodox opposition, and could now be pushing for a start in the next game.

The Netherlands have qualified for the next round of Euro 2024 as one of the best third-placed teams in the group stages. They will now face Romania on July 2 looking to book a place in the quarter-finals.
In the interim, Oranje booked in a friendly match to stay sharp, but there’s a catch. They played a behind-closed-doors friendly against German fourth-division side TSV Havelse.
The Netherlands won the game 6-1, as you may expect, and Micky van de Ven was in fine form in the game. The Tottenham defender even popped up with two goals, and is now tipped to push for a start in the next game for his country.

Van de Ven has had to settle for a substitute role in the first three games of Euro 2024, getting just three minutes of action in the first game against Poland, before staying on the bench in the second game against France.
He got more time under his belt in the final group game, with a 25-minute runout in the dramatic 3-2 defeat against the tournament’s form team, Austria.
Van de Ven went into the tournament on the back of a great first season with Spurs, where he won the Player of the Season award for the club.

The Netherlands haven’t exactly been tight at the back so far this tournament, so it’s not like there isn’t an opportunity for him to come in and improve the team.
