Tottenham may not be done with their midfield signings yet this summer – Journalist reports

The Daily Mail reporter Sami Mokbel has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could look to sign another central midfielder this summer even after the addition of James Maddison.

Maddison has joined Spurs in a £40m deal from Leicester City, with Tottenham fans understandingly being excited by the 26-year-old’s arrival.

The Tottenham faithful will be hoping that the England international is the man to add flair to the Lilywhites midfield, which has been devoid of creativity for the past few years.

Tottenham could look at one more midfield signing

However, if Mokbel’s latest update on The Last World On Spurs is to be believed, Tottenham might not be done strengthening in the middle of the park just yet.

The journalist claims that Ange Postecoglou’s men could potentially pursue a number six or another number eight this transfer window.

This update from Mokbel ties in with Football Insider’s report last week, which claimed that Postecoglou wants to add a midfield enforcer to the squad this summer.

It had been reported by The Sun earlier this month that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s future at Spurs is in doubt as the 27-year-old is not seen as a natural fit for the Australian’s system.

I believe that Hojbjerg will stay at Tottenham unless a bid of £35m or above arrives for the Dane.

I expect Spurs to sign another attacking midfielder to cover for Maddison as a number eight is crucial to the functioning of Postecolglou’s system.

Perhaps, the Lilywhites will go after a young, up-and-coming talent like Alex Scott.
