Tottenham vs Shakhtar Donetsk in pre-season: When, where, and how to watch

Tottenham Hotspur continue their pre-season preparations with a friendly against Shakhtar Donetsk, as Ange Postecoglou prepares for his first game at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

It has been a mixed bag so far for Tottenham this summer, with defeat against West Ham in their first friendly of the pre-season schedule, before a tie with Leicester City was called off due to bad weather.

More recently, Spurs trounced Singapore side Lion City Sailors 5-1, and looked far more like the attacking outfit Postecoglou has promised his team will be this year. A Richarlison hat-trick in that game also offered hope that the Lilywhites could cope without Harry Kane.

Up next for Tottenham is Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, and the first chance for Spurs fans to see ‘Ange Ball’ in action at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

When and where is the Tottenham vs Shakhtar game?

Tottenham Hotspur will play Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday 6th August with a kick-off time of 2 pm BST. The game is being held at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Team news for Tottenham vs Shakhtar

The only player who is confirmed as unavailable for the upcoming game is Bryan Gil, who is recovering from surgery on a back injury. There are doubts over the fitness of Dane Scarlett and Tanguy Ndombele, who both missed the previous fixture.

Yves Bissouma, who pulled up with an injury at half-time against Lion City, is expected to be available for selection for the upcoming game. There is a chance we will see Manor Solomon taking on his former club, too, as Spurs’ new signing looks to continue his good form so far in pre-season.

The Spurs Web prediction

Hopefully, we can carry some momentum over from the win over Lion City Sailors and make home advantage count against Shakhtar. They are a good side with plenty of continental pedigree, but we should have enough about us to secure a win. Put us down for a 3-1 win.
