Two Tottenham players make WhoScored’s Team of the Week 

Guglielmo Vicario and Emerson Royal have both made it into WhoScored’s Team of the Week following impressive displays against Everton.

While Tottenham have lost a number of games this season despite being the better side, they showed a different string to their bow on Saturday, emerging with all three points despite being second best for large parts of the game.

While Ange Postecoglou would not be pleased with many aspects of his side’s performance, he would be quite happy with the determination and fight they showed to hang on for a win.

The Lilywhites have Vicario to thank for the victory, with the Italian having his busiest game of the season so far and once again showing his shot-stopping prowess, making a number of crucial saves.

Emerson and Vicario make the PL Team of the Week

Emerson was tasked with playing at left-back as Destiny Udogie was suspended and the Brazilian delivered a solid display yet again, proving to Postecoglou that he can be counted upon.

The full-back was the third highest rated across the Premier League this week, with WhoScored giving him a performance rating of 8.54 while Vicario was handed a rating of 8.43.

Emerson deserves a lot of praise, having done a solid job despite being asked to play out of position at centre-back and left-back recently. The Brazilian has been unfortunate not to get more game time this season, given Porro’s outstanding form, but he has proven that he is a very valuable squad player.
